Qualifications:
- With extensive experience in a similar role
- A degree holder in a related security and criminology education
- A qualification in security training.
- Basic first aid skills are an advantage.
- Physical strength and fitness.
- Prior experience as a Security Guard is an advantage.
- Multitasking skills
Security officer job requirements and responsibilities:
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
- Control traffic by directing drivers
- Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, students, and the premises
- Provide excellent customer service
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards
- Respond to emergency situations and accidents to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
- Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
- Report suspicious activity, criminal behavior and security breaches and escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed
- Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy
